Ambassador 2026

Nico Dirickx

Ultrarunner from Brustem

We are proud to present our ambassador: Nico Dirickx, ultrarunner from Brustem.

"Cross every finishline, like it's your first
Whatever the distance is, whatever the run."

Nico Dirickx

In Brustem, a village that effortlessly reveals its charm, the Burchtloop is organized for the seventh time this year. Since its launch in 2019, the event has become a true tradition in the local community and far beyond. Originally part of the Challenge Hesbignon, the Burchtloop has proudly joined the Helpshop Running Criterion since 2022, now a name synonymous with quality and conviviality in Limburg road racing.

The Burchtloop organizers have kept improving year after year. With a new fully paved route since 2024, the race offers a challenging yet accessible course for experienced runners and newcomers alike. The route passes the most picturesque spots of Brustem, where nature and history meet.

The Burchtloop also includes the youngest athletes. The youth races give children the chance to enjoy running in a safe and supportive environment. With a generously filled goodie bag as a reward, it becomes an unforgettable experience that encourages an active and healthy lifestyle.

After effort comes relaxation. The Burchtloop is known for its warm atmosphere, where participants, supporters and visitors gather in the party tent for a pleasant aftertalk. With live music, everyone enjoys local hospitality and a delicious local beer, DonJon.
